SCHOLASTIC
Graphic Designer
January 2018 – June 2019

I worked as a Designer in the Children’s Licensing Trade Art Department. I concepted, sketched, and designed licensed book covers, interiors, and products for the school market (book clubs and fairs.) Clients I worked with include Lego, Peppa Pig, Molang, Pokemon, Disney, Feisty Pets, and Marvel. I also project manage, hire, and art direct freelance designers and illustrators.

Assistant Designer
August 2017 – January 2018

Abrams Books is a premier publisher of illustrated books publishing a wide range of high quality books for the art, design, children’s and craft markets. As the Junior Designer I worked with both the art director on design implementation and the design manager to ensure smooth departmental workflow. I worked on a wide range of books from board books/picture books to middle grade, young adult, and graphic novels.

Intern
May 2017 – August 2018

I collaborated with the Children’s Design and Marketing teams to successfully execute projects. Projects included scanning, typesetting, designing activity sheets, and assisting the Creative Director. Outside of the design department, there were weekly Lunch and Learns where I gained a well-rounded understanding of the publishing industry at large.
